Investment Updates (How is previous investment from our group being utilized?)
Sri Sanakam, BetaFlix
BetaFlix’s first product, Welding A2Z is an interactive training library for each welding module recommended by American Welding Society. This encyclopedia of welding concepts incorporates simulations and quizzes that reinforce students’ knowledge prior to testing. All the training content and simulation levels are designed to meet industry specifications and standards. Previous investment by a member of the North Louisiana Investors have advanced Welding A2Z by enabling BetaFlix to:establish key partnerships that ensure technical accuracy and content efficiency; develop educational curriculum, design interactive simulations, and build digital infrastructure for 3D videos.
Opportunity Updates (What have previous presenters accomplished since our last meeting?)
Roy Dowling – Bulldog Solutions (UNCONFIRMED)
Roy has been working with an engineering firm in Houston to design the process equipment in order to determine exact capital required for the next phase. Has several initial investors interested.
Wanye Nix, RNVENTION
RNVENTION’s first production mold will be purchased this month which means that the company’s first product, the MultiNix (a time/money saving multitool for nurses and veterinarians) will go to production starting in April. New Louisiana Angel Fund has indicated that it will make an additional investment in February. Currently looking to raise an additional $150,000 in convertible debt.
Jim Cardelli, SegueTx
SegueTx’s is bringing effective repurposed drugs in the fight against pancreatic cancer, a devastating disease where less than 7% survive more than 5 years. The company has raised $195K in capital (being used for enabling research) and the company hopes to complete our seed round raise of $500K this spring.
John Chidlow, Innolyzer Labs
Innolyzer looking to close out current round in order to launch first product – a hand held hydrogen sulfide analyzer. The company has functional prototypes in which we have tested the chemistries, gas release and capture; and functional detection options. Currently Innolyzer is integrating the sensors into the device for a beta product to launch this year. Innolyzer has raised $1.6M and are seeking partners for the last $400K.
Dr. Konstantin Dolgan, Grapheno
Grapheno has developed a product that protects sensitive electronics by absorbing electromagnetic radiation (EMI) which is problematic in many industries dealing with electric and magnetic equipment, such as telecommunications, medical equipment, and electric power providers. Preventing EMI avoids damage to electronics, loss of data, and interruption of vital modes of communication. Grapheno is a low-cost and eco-friendly alternative to the existing conductive coatings that meets or exceeds their electromagnetic protection levels. Grapheno is currently seeking $60,000 to finish designing the product and conduct pilot projects. Previously the company has received a $20,000 grant from the Innovation Enterprise Fund for R&D and initial product development.
